anger – a meditation

You will not be punished for your anger. You will be punished by your anger.

When I am angry, I only affect my serenity. If I act on that anger, I carry around a resentment against myself. Still, I try to remember that my feelings are valid and are key to my recovery. Rather than deny my anger, I accept it and ask myself what is the underlying fear I am fostering behind that anger. When I do this, I am able to let go of that fear to my Higher Power, and consequently, the anger.
